Rotisserie Georgette Hosts Karen Page and Bianca Bosker for A Wine-Soaked Literary Luncheon

Saturday, November 4, 2017

Restaurateur extraordinaire Georgette Farkas is on a roll — bringing together food-and-wine-loving authors for literary salons at her beloved Rotisserie Georgette on Manhattan’s Upper East Side.

Today, she graciously hosted a wine-soaked lunch featuring authors Karen Page and Bianca Bosker in conversation with one another about their respective books KITCHEN CREATIVITY and Cork Dork.

Their wide-ranging discussion about all things wine and more spanned sensory development, food and wine pairing, and even “hospitality included.”

With Piper-Heidsieck as an event sponsor, the Piper-Heidsieck Champagne Brut Cuvee 1785 flowed freely throughout the lunchtime event, as guests mingled and perused books (available for sale on site via Andrea Shane‘s Books on Call NYC, Inc.) before sitting down to a three-course lunch of Madeleines Provencal, Rillettes de Saumon, Poule de Luxe, all accompanied by a luscious 2016 Chapoutier “Anne-Sophie Pic” Cotes-du-Rhone.  One of the city’s best Tarte Tatins was served with a dollop of creme fraiche for dessert.

Guests at the luncheon included wine columnist Baroness Sheri de Borchgrave, authors Andrew Dornenburg and Peter Hellman, Yvon Moller of the James Beard Foundation, and Broadway agent Marilynn Scott Murphy.

Our heartfelt thanks to Georgette Farkas and Rotisserie Georgette for hosting such a lovely event coinciding with KITCHEN CREATIVITY‘s launch week!

[And special thanks to our long-time favorite event photographer Howard Childs — who says he began his career via a chance meeting with photographer Irving Penn while working at Callaway Editions — for these images as well as those from our 92nd Street Y event earlier this week.  Howard’s other clients have included Hermes of Paris, the James Beard Foundation (through which we were first introduced in 2003), and W Hotels, in addition to private individuals in New York City and Asia; and, by the way, he’s booking now for the busy holiday party and portrait season!]
